"This month is Marie Curie Month, and I am a volunteer fundraiser for the charity.
Ayrshire Curlers very kindly donated the ice rink on Sunday 20th March 2016, to have a bonspiel to raise much needed funds for our charity.
An email was sent out to all clubs from Ayr Ice Rink, but unfortunately it has disappeared into the ether and no-one seems to have received it. I am therefore re-sending it to you all in the hope that, even at this late stage, we can 'pull it together' and rise to the challenge! Ideally, a team from all of the clubs would be appreciated.
The bonspiel will consist of 3 x 5 end games, beginning at 11am and there are prizes and The Marie Curie Trophy for the winning rinks. You can enter as a rink or individuals. The posters have been on display in the lounge for a few weeks, so please enter your name, or text or call me on 07977536994, so that a draw can be made next week.
The cost of the day is £20 per person, which includes soup and sandwiches and your donation to the charity. There will also be a raffle, with some very nice prizes, including a hamper of goodies!
We have all been with family and friends during their last hours, and know how much a Marie Curie Nurse or Hospice care, would have made a difference and been so comforting.
I do hope that I can rely on your support for this event.
