Sunday's Charity Bonspiel was a great success and at the end of the day raised the a staggering total of £5000 for the charity. 

Pictured above is Katey Monaghan receiving a cheque from the tireless organisers, Liz and Jim Boswell.

Liz has written the following:

"On Sunday at Ayr ice rink a very successful bonspiel was held in aid of Multiple Sclerosis. The 96 curlers taking part helped raise £4,822.

Thanks to Robert Boyd for sponsoring winners prizes, Bella Kennedy for the second prizes and James Galloway for the prizes for the strongest teams of all!!

Thanks also to everyone for raffle prizes, donations of money, silent auction donations, selling raffle tickets and helping on the day. Last but not least,the 96 curlers, who participated enthusiastically. Thank you so much."

 

Section A winners, shown above, were James Dykes (skip), Ross Drummond, Bill Abbott and Jane Cherry.

 

Section B was won by Murray Stevenson (skip) with his team of Gillian Wright, Jennifer Peat and Andrew McDairmid  .

Joint Winners of the "Guess the weight of the Cake"  competition were Elizabeth Shaw and Elly Branch.

 

Even the local herd of reindeer turned up to give their support and see what was going on.
