Aims and Objectives

FORMATION AND REMIT

Ayr Curling Club Development Group was formed in March 2013 by the Committee of Ayr Curling Club and other members of the Curling Club with the specific remit of :

  1. increasing the level of participation in curling at Ayr Ice Rink
  2. increasing the level of membership, activity and income of Ayr Curling Club, and
  3. enhancing the status and standing of Ayr Curling Club.

Detailed Aims and Objectives (2013-2014)

Within this overall remit, the specific and detailed objectives of the Development Group are listed below and the help and input of all members of Ayr Curling Club are required to achieve these objectives.

  1. to promote curling in Ayr and Ayrshire as a social, competitive and fun sport for all regardless of ability, sex, age or ethnic origin
  2. to halt the decline in membership of Ayr Curling Club and increase the number of active curlers
  3. to increase the level of membership, use and income of Ayr Curling Club and to enhance the status and standing of Ayr Curling Club
  4. to enhance the curling experience at Ayr Curling Club
  5. to provide high quality coaching and skills development for all grades of curler  
  6. to enhance the status of Ayr Curling Club as a competitive Curling Club 
  7. to enhance the corporate image of Ayr Curling Club
  8. to develop Ayr Curling Club as a venue for corporate curling
  9. to develop the catering experience at Ayr Curling Club
  10. to promote Ayr Curling Club as a venue for regional, national and international curling competitions
  11. to promote Ayr Curling Club for “disabled” curling
  12. to enhance the physical facilities at Ayr Curling Club
  13. to enhance communications at all levels within Ayr Curling Club
  14. to develop a modern Club website and efficient social media packages
  15. to ensure that all curling activities at Ayr Ice Rink are carried out in accordance with appropriate protection policies for young children and vulnerable adults
