Bell Quaich Bonspiel 2013

Twelve mixed rinks participated at Ayr Curling Club for the annual Bell Quaich.
Winning rink was Past President Skip Billy Howat, Elizabeth Shaw, Alison Alexander and
junior, Logan Middleton.
Second was Skip Hubert Ireland, Bill Alexander, Frank McHugh and Derek Gilbertson.
Sponsorship was courtesy of Anderson and Hall, Ayr.

"The results of yesterdays bonspiel are as follows:-
1st Billy Howat, Elizabeth Shaw, Alison Alexander and Logan Middleton
2nd Hubert Ireland, Bill Alexander, Frank McHugh and Derek Gilbertson
3rd John Wylie, David Hope, Ela MacLennan and Fiona Bain
4th= Gavin Morton, Kathryn Hay, Lillian McIntyre and Maureen Bain
4th= Jim Wilson, Jean Morton, John McWhirter and Elaine McClure
Both Hubert and Billy were unbeaten however Billy won having one more end.
Billy informed everyone he was just following his orders from Logan and this seemed to work so he stuck with it.
Hubert said he was grateful that he had won something at his age and having someone on the match committee did help.
The president was most upset that he dropped from 1st to fourth equal after loosing his titanic struggle on the last end of his match against Billy. Something to do with six attempts to remove the lying shot.
