1. The sole purpose of the Special General Meeting and the only business of the meeting is to consider
and vote upon a proposed change to the constitution of the Club.
It is proposed that the Club's constitution be amended so that: Clause 13 of the
current constitution, which states that:
"The election of members shall be vested in the General Committee. Candidates for admission must be
over eighteen years of age and must be proposed by one member and seconded by one, both of whom
must personally know the proposed candidate"
be deleted and replaced by the following replacement clause 13:
"Membership is open to all and no application for membership will be refused on other than reasonable
grounds. There will be no discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage
and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation,
political or other opinion. There will be the right of appeal to the General Committee following refusal of
any application for membership, provided the appeal is made in writing to the General Committee within
14 days of intimation to the applicant of refusal. The General Committee should consider the appeal within
14 days of receiving the appeal."
