Stewarton Heather win Province Knock Out

The final of the Province Knock Out took place last night (20th October) between Dundonald and Stewarton Heather. The Dundonald rink comprised Maw, Paw and the wean Goldie (Richard skipping with Liz and David) plus Archie McGregor and they were up against the in form team of the moment skipped by David Mundell with Craig Reid, David Reid ( fresh from his success at the Dumfries Open ) and Douglas Reid. Despite a valiant effort by the Family Goldie and Archie it was the Stewarton Heather rink which won through to represent Ayrshire Province in the National Province Championships being held at Greenacres from the 13th November where they are in Section D along with Livingston, Kenmore, Keir and Boreland Curling Clubs. RCCC President (and Ayrshire Province Vice President ) Billy presented the prizes to last night's finalists and expressed the view that he hoped to be presenting the prizes to Stewarton again when they win the National Championships.
