On Sunday 15th October between noon and 8.00pm we are taking part in the RCCC iniative CurlFest supported by the CashforKids charity. The aim of the event is to introduce Olympic sport and show off our facilities to non curlers many of whom may not even know where the ice rink is located.
We will be holding Try Curling sessions to let those new visitors try curling and have some short curling for the less adventurous. We will also have Margaret Agnew and her Olympic gold medal from the 2002 Olympics and possibly Scott Andrews with his silver medal from the 2014 games at some time through the day.
In addition we will be hosting a beer festival of real ales, a small craft element, hand made chocolates, face painting, home baking, high teas, raffle, tombola, indoor curling and some music.
To make this a success for Ayr Curling Club and in turn each individual club within the ice rink we need your support. We need you to spread the word and come along with someone who may not play at present. We also need donations for the raffle, tombola and home baking stall in addition to some volunteers to help man the day.
Raffle or tombola prizes may be handed in to the office, bar or to a committee member. Home baking can be handed into the club lounge on Saturday 14th between 2 - 4pm or Sunday 15th from 11am onwards. Volunteers should contact either the office or a committee member with times which they are available.
