The Masters qualifying was held at Greenacres on 5 to 7 November 2019. There were 25 rinks fromn all over Scotland.
Only one rink from Ayr entered The Masters this year. Jim Boswell, Charlie Steele, Charles Jackson and Robert Boyd. There are five sections with five rinks in each - the top two in each section plus two highest losers qualify for the finals in February.
Team Boswell took a great scalp in the first game, beating past champions Team Prentice by 10 shots to 6. A loss in the second meant two wins were required on the last day, which was duly acheived, with a tight game against Team Cullen, followed by a more comfortable win against Team Wilks.
Boswell finished joint top of the section, same ends as Prentice but with fewer shots up. Good luck in the finals!
