Lady President’s Day was held on Friday 29th November and 12 rinks played 4 ends of curling then enjoyed mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies ice side before returning to finish their games. Overall winners of the day were Jennifer Mutter, Nora McCrossin, Eila MacLennan and Linda Williams (pictured above).
Runners up were Aileen McCorkell, Hatty Forrest, Margaret Sloan and Gillian Watson. First prizes were kindly donated by President Robert and caused much joy and hilarity.
After a delicious lunch from Steven and his team the ladies were treated to a demonstration of cake decorating and sugar craft. The decorated cake was then raffled off and was won by Maureen McGregor.
A total of £225 was raised and over 85kg of food and toiletries were then purchased and donated to our local Foodbank to be distributed to needy and vulnerable families.
After the demonstration the ladies had the opportunity to craft their own Angels, Snowmen and other unidentifiable figures from fondant and a walnut whip. Margaret White’s Angel triumphed.
Thank you so very much to all those that attended the day and for your contributions to the raffle, it enabled a whopping 85kg of goods to be sent over to the Foodbank in time for Christmas.
It is very much appreciated.
Isla, Lady President
