Part 3 of the Maxwell campaign brought the visiting team from Lockerbie to Ayr on the 29th January.
Ayr once again came out on top winning two games and losing one. Another 4 points in the bag leaves us on top of the table with one game to play.
Team 1 was skipped by Neil Sands with Neil Kennedy , Bobby Ireland and Tom Neill – they were up against Scott Hamilton . It was a game of two halves with the second half being much closer than the first . Peels going into the last end Neil managed to draw the shot for the win 6-5.
Murray Stevenson skipped Mark Pieroni, Bert Andrew and John Davers against Jim Blacks’ seasoned campaigners !! Another close game with Murray one down playing the last he lay peels after his last stone but Jim tapped it back for the win.
Robert Anderson stepped up to skip due to Mr Clarks unfortunate accident earlier that morning with Shaun Rennie at third and Liam Scott stepping in at the last minute at second and Johnnie Johnston at lead. Against Graham Black they got away to a great start and never looked back- another win chalked up!.
An excellent result followed by a great night of banter and good craic – excactly what the game is all about. The Lockerbie minibus left and took 2 of our lot with them to drop off near a pub in Mauchline !! However the bus drivers idea of buying a loaf and a chunk of cheese to instigate an invite back somewhere to toast it fell on deaf ears and they were sent on their merry way !! Great day - good result - on to the next one. !!
Thanks to Neil Sands for the above report.Back to news <
