Michael Reid wins Eglinton Jug

The Eglinton Jug came to it’s conclusion with two excellent semi finals on Friday afternoon between Bobby Ireland’s Crosshill and David Mundell’s Stewarton Heather 2, and Craig Reid’s Stewarton Heather 1 up against Michael Reid’s Stewarton Heather 3. Both games went to the last stone and Crosshill and Stewarton 3 emerged victorious going on to contest a very entertaining final.

The final was a close game for the first three ends, Michael then took control with a 4 in the fourth to move 5-2 up. Bobby took a single in the fifth to cut the deficit to 2. Michael then stretched further ahead with a 2 in the sixth  7-3. The seventh end had the healthy crowd of supporters in full voice as the Crosshill boys levelled the game with a 4 . All square going into a tense  last end ,Michael kept his nerve and played a good  hit and stick to win the Jug.
