Ayr Curling Club joins with The RCCC in mourning the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
The Queen was Patron of The Royal Club and they wrote the following.
"The president and office bearers of the RCCC, of which her late Majesty was Patron, extend their deepest sympathy and have sent a message of condolence to Buckingham Palace on behalf of the organisation and its members.
Queen Elizabeth has been the RCCC’s Royal Patron since 1952 upon the passing of her father, King George VI. Her Majesty was present at the opening of the new Aberdeen ice rink in October 1983 and visited the new Curl Aberdeen again in 2005. In December 2016 the Queen announced she is stepping down as patron of a number of organisations she had supported, including charities and academic institutions, but not the RCCC.
A great leader, mother, grandmother, and consort who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with the royal family at this time."
