Scotland's Senior Women win Bronze at World Seniors Championships

We are delighted that Ayr's Senior Women have won Bronze at the World Seniors Championships at Oestersund in Sweden.
Karen Kennedy, Gail Thomson, Ali Cunningham, Gillian King and Margaret Richardson went unbeaten through the pool games and quarter-final. They bounced back from missing out to eventual champions Canada in the semi-final to dominate versus Switzerland and clinch bronze.
‘Dreams do come true,’ said Ali. ‘To be able to represent my country as a competitor in the sport I love with fantastic teammates was incredible – what an utterly amazing experience we’ve all just had at World Seniors!
‘Fantastic arena and city, friendly and very skilled opponents on great ice, with awesome support from those who came to Oestersund and from those at home.’
