Henderson Bishop Trophy

Well done to our team of Aileen McCorkell (skip), Mara Lindsay, Lisa Mason and Alison Young for winning the local playdowns  to represent  Ayr at the Henderson Bishop Finals  in Forfar this week. 

(The Henderson Bishop is the largest ladies competition in the Royal Caledonian Club’s curling calendar.)

Unfortunately, Mara tested positive just before the finals and we are grateful to Janice Sutherland for stepping in to play with the team. 

Although our team did not make it to the final day, our thanks go to Forfar Indoor Sports and it’s organising committee of Sheilagh Macfarlane, Shirley Jeans, Janine Wilson and the ladies of Forfar Ladies Curling Club for their excellent organisation over the 4 days.

Sincere congratulations to Kate Adams and her team from Stranraer, who were worthy winners of the beautiful Henderson Bishop Trophy.
